I learnt this the hard way
Years ago I ran a business that was busy. Sales were coming in and it felt like it was working. But I didn't really know my numbers: what each sale actually made us, what it cost to run, or how much cash we needed to get through the quiet months. By the time the numbers caught up with me, it was too late, and I had to shut that business down.
That stuck with me. Now it's the first thing I do with every business I'm part of: what do we need to make, what does it cost, and how much cash does it take to get there. Before strategy, before marketing.
Most people starting out can't afford great accounting or tax advice, and plenty who can don't know what to ask. So I built the thing I wish I'd had: a course that teaches you profit, cash flow and strategy, and leaves you with a forecast built on your own numbers.
Use it as your starting point. Take it to your accountant or a mentor, and you'll get a lot more out of every conversation.
